Business Development Manager

Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

A market leading multi disciplined construction business that provides a diverse range of services across six key divisions; Construction, Commercial Interiors, Small Works, Building Services, Maintenance and Insurance are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about the construction industry and eager to drive growth and innovation. As the Business Development Manager, you will play a critical role in identifying and securing new business opportunities. You will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, develop strategic partnerships, and work closely with the senior leadership team to drive the company’s growth and expand its market presence.

As the Business Development Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the construction sector.

  • Negotiate and close contracts with clients and partners.

  • Establish, build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, architects, and other key stakeholders.

  • Develop and implement effective business development strategies to increase company revenue.

  • Manage the full sales cycle, from initial contact through to project commencement.

  • Prepare proposals, pre-qualification questionnaires, bid writing, and presentations tailored to meet our client needs.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.

  • Collaborate with management teams to ensure seamless transitions from sales to project execution.

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.

Successful applicants will have the following experience:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the construction industry.

  • Strong understanding of the construction process, project management, and industry regulations.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and goal oriented.

  • Commercial awareness and understanding of the Construction process.

  • Remains resilient when under pressure.

  • A degree in business, construction management, engineering, or a construction related field is preferred.
