Electrical Project Manager

Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire

Salary:: £75,000 - £80,000

Benefits:      £7,500 car allowance, 25 days holiday + 8 days Bank Holidays, private healthcare, company pension


A market leading Tier One M&E Contractor are looking for an Electrical Project Manager to join their management team working on a prestigious shell & core, life science project in Oxford.

As one of the M&E management team you will be responsible to manage the project from pre-construction to completion ensuring the high-profile project is completed to schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards undertaking effective planning.

As the Electrical Project Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage materials, labour, sub-contractors, installation, procurement and drawing programmes to accord with installation and specification requirements.

  • Liaison with clients, supply chain, delivery teams and management.

  • Oversee working practices, ensuring compliance with HSE policies with support from H&S Manager.

  • Financial management of project, including managing budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.

  • Monitor project progress and performance, addressing any issues that arise.

  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring solutions are implemented effectively.

  • Maintain close working relationships with clients, stakeholders, sub-contractors and internal teams to manage progress, challenges, and resolutions.

Successful applicants will have the following experience:

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex electrical projects with values £10M+ ideally in the R&D, life science, laboratory and healthcare sector.

  • Overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of electrical systems, construction practices and industry standards.

  • Effective planning and project management skills, including planning, scheduling and resource allocation.

  • Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control and financial analysis.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to achieve project goals.

  • The ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.

  • Electrical related qualifications and SMSTS card.
